How else do you cook?

So far, this site is completely dedicated to Dutch oven cooking.  However, we will zoom expand it to have forums that deal with other types of outdoor cooking.

I discovered grilling about ten years ago.  I'm not talking about throwing some frozen hamburger patties or grocery store el cheapo hot dogs on the grill and getting a good char on them.  I'm talking about indirect grilling larger cuts of meat.  I'm talking about using rubs, marinades, and smoke to change the flavor profile of the food being grilled.  I'm even talking about grilled desserts--way more than roasted marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers.

For Christmas last year, I got a Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker and started learning the art of REAL barbecue.  I've used it to smoke ribs, turkey, lots of chickens, pork butts, and even a brisket.  I love how juicy and flavorful slow-smoked meats become.  It's amazing.

I have even learned (mostly because I'm a Scoutmaster) fun techniques for cooking lots of different kinds of foods when you have no utensils or cooking vessels and need to cook dinner over an open fire.

How else do you cook?  What do you like to cook?  Share your thoughts on this topic and it might influence which forums are created next.

I've got the same smoker as DeShawn - oddly enough, we both were looking into smokers simultaneously yet separately, and we both arrived at the same one! Means something, I know it...

I love to do the smoking. In fact, there's a great chance that there will be a Renowned Mr. Brown at my house this Father's Day. (Do a search for Mr. Brown, and you'll find quite a few references.)

I don't care what it is, or how - I just love to cook. Stovetop, oven, dutch oven, grill, smoker, heck - just on the campfire, I love finding out how to make things better.

One of my favorites is, oddly enough, just some simply marinated boneless skinless chicken breasts on the grill. I found out the last time I did them that if I actually use a probe thermometer, I can get them even more flavorful and juicy - I can cook them through without overcooking and drying them out!

It's all about doing something just a little bit different. Not everything works every time, but I certainly gain KNOWLEDGE every time, which makes things better over the long run.

So - Smoking forum makes great sense, and I personally vote that someday we might want to think about a campfire cooking (outdoor cooking?) segment.
