Post by: IdBlackPotPat on June 21, 2011, 03:51:31 pm
Fun around the campfire or even in your back yard...

Dutch Oven Fondue

Dutch oven (I usually use a 10inch) and enough dipping sticks for each person.

1/4 cup butter
4 ounces unsweetened chocolate
2 cups sugar
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Dipping items such as Fruit, Brownies, Pound Cake, Marshmallows - make your own and you will never buy them again...

Place all ingredients, except marshmallows, in the Dutch oven and melt over moderately hot coals. Stir the melted ingredients thoroughly and remove from the fire. Place a marshmallow or other dipping item on the stick and dip in the fondue.
This will serve up to 8 - be sure that you have plenty of marshmallows. Pound cake, fruit - Strawberries or Bananas etc., Browinies, Cookies or other dipping items may be substituted.

Darren, you're going to have to test this one out.  I'm not a fan of desserts that have been befouled by peanut butter.  :P
