Simple, to the point - and YUMMY.
A 12" dutch oven, 6 scouts, 2 leaders, and no leftovers. And considering how very RICH this was, I was pretty surprised.
Ingredients:- 3/4 cup margarine, softened
- 3 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup caramel bits (or butterscotch chips)
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
Preparation:Combine cracker crumbs and margarine and press into the bottom of a 12" DO. Evenly sprinkle with chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and marshmallows. Pour condensed milk over the top. Bake at 350* for 25 minutes or until bubbly. Use 14 coals on top and 10 on the bottom. Cool somewhat before cutting. Serves 12-15.
To be honest, I was not able to wait for complete cooling, nor did I want to - it was still warm as we dug in with a serving spoon. This was SOOOOOO rich, and the way the marshmallows were all swollen as if cooked in a microwave - except nicely browned - was very cool.
Leader tested, Scout approved.
